I'm Proud to Join the PIABA Board of Directors — Here's What It Means for You
/Representing individual investors against large brokerage firms and financial institutions is work I take seriously. It requires staying ahead of every shift in securities law, arbitration procedure, and industry regulation — because when the rules change, so does our strategy. That's why I'm honored to announce that I've joined the Board of Directors of the Public Investors Advocate Bar Association (PIABA) for 2026.
PIABA is an international bar association of attorneys who represent investors in securities arbitration and litigation. Its mission is straightforward: protect everyday investors from abuse, fight for fair arbitration processes, and push back against attacks on investor rights. These are causes that sit at the very core of my practice at Furgison Law Group.
For my clients, this appointment is more than a professional milestone — it's a direct advantage. As a PIABA Board member, I have a front-row seat to the evolving landscape of investor protection law. I'm in the room when industry trends are debated, when policy priorities are shaped, and when strategies are developed to counter brokerage misconduct. That inside knowledge translates directly into stronger, more informed advocacy for the people I represent.
My practice focuses on complex securities fraud and investment loss claims — breach of fiduciary duty, broker misconduct, overconcentration, misrepresentation, and unsuitable investment recommendations. Having previously worked on the defense side of these disputes, I understand how the other side thinks. Combined with my PIABA Board involvement, that perspective gives my clients a distinct edge.
If you've suffered investment losses due to broker misconduct, you deserve an advocate who is not just fighting for you today, but helping shape the future of investor rights. That's exactly the commitment I bring to every case.
